Who is behind the evidence

Talaix (formerly HydraShield) is an early-stage, founder-led project based in Luxembourg. We build one thing: documented physical climate-risk evidence that a third party can check — for EU disclosure, for financing decisions, and for the places where lives and capital are exposed.

What we do

We read public Earth-observation and open data — satellite imagery, reanalysis archives, official hazard registries and event records — and turn it into physical climate-risk evidence around a specific place: a site, an asset, a portfolio, an origin of supply, or a whole territory. The output is a document where every figure carries its source, its date and its confidence, and where missing data is declared instead of estimated away.

That evidence layer is what EU disclosure and due-diligence work actually needs: CSRD/ESRS E1 physical risk, EU Taxonomy “Do No Significant Harm” checks, EUDR origin screening — and the same evidence answers underwriting, lending, siting and licensing questions.

How we work

Honesty contract

Unavailable data is declared, never invented. Every claim carries an evidence status — OBSERVED, DOCUMENTED, REPORTED, MODELLED, INFERRED or UNKNOWN.

Transparent pricing

The free tier is genuinely useful, a decision-ready pack is €19, and subscription prices are published. No “contact us for pricing” wall.

Reproducible by design

Every report carries its ID, engine version and methodology, so a reviewer can reproduce the run instead of trusting a score.

Open source where it counts

The analytical engine is published as open source under EUPL-1.2 — the evidence logic is inspectable, not a black box.

The open-source engine

The analytical core of Talaix is released as tore — the Talaix Open Risk Engine under the EUPL-1.2 licence. It contains the hazard modules, the prediction and earth-observation code and the knowledge registries that produce the evidence. The commercial web layer (accounts, billing, outreach) stays private; the science does not.

Coverage today: up to 10 hazards screened per site, 25 datasets integrated into the engine out of 167 catalogued. Every source evaluated — integrated, candidate or rejected, with the reason — is public in the source registry.

Where we are

Talaix is based in Luxembourg and works in English, French and German-speaking EU markets, with a deliberately EU-facing product: EU disclosure vocabularies, EU-format evidence, EU-resident data handling. The company is in its pre-incorporation, founder-led stage — which is why the pricing is published and the engine is open: you can judge the work before you have to trust the company.

What we are not

Not assurance

We are an evidence layer. CSRD limited assurance, statutory audits and ESMA-regulated external reviews remain with your auditor or independent reviewer.

Not a black-box score

We do not sell an unexplained risk rating, and we do not quantify losses — no AAL, PML or EP curves, at any price.

Not legal or investment advice

Screening determinations and hazard levels are indicators, not legal determinations, credit ratings or investment recommendations.

Judge the work, not the pitch

The fastest way to evaluate Talaix is to read a pack and then run your own coordinates.
