📊 Product analytics (first-party only)
We record product usage events (for example: a page was viewed, a
hazard was selected, a place was analyzed) to understand what is
useful and what to build next.
- No third-party trackers — events go only to our own API
- No cookies for analytics — a random pseudonymous session
id lives in your browser's local storage; we store only its
cryptographic hash
- No IP addresses stored in analytics
- Coarse location only — coordinates are rounded to ~11 km
before storage
- Do Not Track honoured — with DNT enabled, nothing is sent
- Retention — analytics events are kept at most 12 months
👤 Accounts & alerts
If you register, we store your email address and, only if you add
them, your saved locations, alert rules and phone number — to
provide the service you asked for.
- Registration requires an explicit consent checkbox
- Passwords are stored only as salted hashes
- Phone numbers are used only for alerts you configure; SMS
starts only after you verify the number yourself
- Alert history and delivery status are kept for auditability
🚫 What we never do
- No selling or sharing of personal data
- No marketing email without your explicit action
- No cross-site tracking, fingerprinting or advertising profiles
- No collection of sensitive personal characteristics
- No passwords, message contents or secrets in analytics
🧭 Your controls
- Delete saved locations, alert rules and your phone number at
any time in your account
- Stop all SMS alerts with one action
- Request account deletion by email
- Enable Do Not Track to opt out of analytics entirely
